This Privacy Policy explains what information Tamedex (“we”, “us”, the “site”) collects when you visit tamedex.com, and how it is used. Tamedex is a free, unofficial multi-game wiki and toolkit. You can browse the wikis and use the tools without an account; an optional free account lets you save bookmarks, track recent items and submit corrections.

Information we collect

Most of the site works without giving us any personal information. Depending on how you use Tamedex, the following kinds of data may be involved:

  • Account data (only if you sign up). If you create an account with email and password, we store your email address, a display name and a securely hashed password — we never store your password in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (your name and email address) to create and identify your account. We use this only to operate your account and log you in. You can change your password or delete your account at any time from your account settings; deleting your account removes your profile, bookmarks and saved history from our database.
  • Saved for your account. If you are signed in, features such as your bookmarks, tracked collection and recently viewed items are saved to our database (Cloudflare D1) so they follow you across devices.
  • Stored only in your browser. When you are not signed in, features such as your caught-creature register and recent breeding combinations are saved with your browser’s localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
  • Standard server logs & aggregate analytics. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to serve and secure the site. We may also use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are used most. This is used in aggregate and not to identify you personally.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. An essential session cookie is set only when you sign in, to keep you logged in; it is not used for advertising. Advertising and analytics cookies are described below and are subject to your consent choices.

Cookies & advertising

Tamedex is ad-supported to keep the site free. We use Google AdSense; when advertising is served through Google and its partners, the following applies:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Tamedex and other sites on the Internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads on this site.

Your consent choices

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we show a Google-certified consent message (a Consent Management Platform) before personalised advertising cookies are used. By default, advertising and analytics storage are set to denied until you make a choice, and your selection controls whether Google and its partners may use cookies for personalisation. You can change your choice at any time from the consent controls on the site.

Children’s privacy

Tamedex is a general-audience game reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
