Krillion: how the daily trivia game scores rare answers, tiers and modes

Krillion is a free browser trivia game: every player gets the same seven prompts each day and scores by how rare their valid answer is, from Plankton up to One in a Krillion. Two sources agree on the six point values (10 to 100); the reset time and the Unlimited timer differ between sources, and the official rules page did not load for our checker, so this page lists what is consistent and what differs.

Quick facts

What it is

7 prompts a day

A free browser trivia game. Everyone gets the same seven prompts each day, and a valid answer scores higher the fewer players give it. Several fan guides say no sign-up is needed.

Timer

25 seconds (daily)

The Product Hunt listing and the SimilarLabs listing both say 25 seconds per prompt in the daily dive. KrillionHQ says roughly 20 seconds for the daily and 25 for Unlimited. SimilarLabs describes Infinite mode differently: one 45-second air timer that grows with correct answers.

Points per tier

10 / 15 / 30 / 60 / 85 / 100

KrillionHQ and the SimilarLabs listing give the same six values, from Plankton (10) up to One in a Krillion (100). A summary of a third page showed different middle values, so check the in-game screen.

Made by

JingLee (Product Hunt)

The Product Hunt listing names the creator as 李靖 (lancerlee428), and one fan guide calls it a solo developer. The official site is krillion.io.

How Krillion works (as reported)

Facts restate a Product Hunt listing, a SimilarLabs directory listing and two fan guides, plus the official site's menu. The official site's rules page did not load for us. Where sources differ we show both and do not pick one. Tamedex has not played enough to give tested tips, so there are no tested strategies here.

  • The daily dive

Seven prompts, the same for every player, once a day. Each prompt accepts a list of valid answers rather than one correct answer. Sources disagree on the reset: SimilarLabs says 00:00 UTC, while KrillionHQ says midnight US Eastern time (04:00 UTC in daylight saving time). We could not check which is right.

  • Rarity tiers

All guides name six tiers: Plankton, Too Clever, Schooler, Rare, Deep Cut and One in a Krillion. Plankton is the most common answer and One in a Krillion the rarest.

  • Points per tier

KrillionHQ and the SimilarLabs listing both list Plankton 10, Too Clever 15, Schooler 30, Rare 60, Deep Cut 85 and One in a Krillion 100. An earlier summary of another page listed 5, 10, 25, 40, 60 and 100. The two pages that agree are the better-supported numbers, but the game may change them.

  • How rarity is set

KrillionHQ says answers are checked against an accepted-answer list, with rarity built from dictionaries, wikis and encyclopedias, sometimes with LLM assistance and a manual pass. This is the fan guide's description, not an official statement.

  • Modes

The official menu shows a daily dive, Unlimited, an archive of past days, themed packs, an account area and friends. SimilarLabs describes Infinite mode as one 45-second air timer that extends with correct answers, with no daily play limit. KrillionHQ instead says Unlimited uses a 25-second timer per prompt. The two descriptions conflict. Dailygamestoplay describes a dive from the surface to a 7,000 meter trench floor.

  • Size of the library

SimilarLabs reports 210 unique prompts and over 29,000 accepted answers, about 139 per prompt, and a release date of September 5, 2026. These are the directory listing's numbers and we could not confirm them on the official site.

  • Clone and fan sites

Several unofficial sites use the Krillion name (including krillionhq.com, krilliongame.org, playdaily.org/krillion). KrillionHQ states it is an independent fan guide not affiliated with krillion.io. Check you are on the official site.
