City Never Sleeps

· Steam announcement

A large update: a visual update to the map and neutrals, six new heroes, HUD updates, quality-of-life additions and accessibility options. Valve also described where development stands.

  • Details are on Valve's update page at playdeadlock.com/cityneversleeps.
  • Valve says it has been working on several things in parallel this year, including progression and hero or hideout customization, which it wants to change based on feedback before full release.
  • It also named large item redesigns and alternate game modes as more speculative work that depends on playtesting.
  • Midboss, Guardians and Walkers are listed as important areas not yet reworked, to be focused on in upcoming updates; hero remodels are expected to come gradually later.

Minor Update

· Steam announcement

Comeback-bounty and objective-bounty changes, parry, dash and slow tweaks, and a long list of item changes.

  • Unstable Rift comeback resist now scales over the game: 10% plus 1% per minute, up to 40% at 30 minutes (it was a flat maximum of 35%).
  • Removed a fixed extra souls bonus for being slightly behind in net worth, slightly reduced comeback bounties, and moved 70% of extra comeback value to the lowest two players through the tick gold system.
  • Guardian bounty +10%, Walker bounty +5%; objective bounty share for nearby heroes reduced from 30% to 25%; respawn time at 20 minutes increased from 35s to 38s.
  • Using parry now pauses reloading; parrying during a regular dash cancels the dash and parries on the spot; being stunned pauses your reload instead of restarting it.
  • All move slow values reduced by about 20% and ground dash slows by about 10%; dashes and light melee no longer pause your gun's cycle time.
  • Items: Shadow Weave now builds from Sprint Boots with sprint speed 1.5 to 2 and cooldown 45s to 37s; Ballistic Enchantment duration 14s to 20s; Veil Walker no longer builds from Sprint Boots and Spirit Power drops from 10 to 6; Leech lifesteal 25% to 28%.

Minor Update

· Steam announcement

Item and Celeste ability numbers.

  • Radiant Regeneration heal on cast 70 to 65; Restorative Locket Spirit Resistance 10% to 8%.
  • Celeste: Dazzling Trick cooldown 32s to 34s; Shining Wonder damage 165 to 140 and spirit scaling 0.9 to 0.6; Radiant Daggers Spirit Amp per stack +8% to +7%.

Minor Update

Hero balance changes for Apollo, Billy, Doorman, Drifter, Holliday, Ivy, Lash and McGinnis.

  • Apollo: Riposte melee resist reduction -22% to -25%; Riposte T3 lifesteal 60% for 7s to 75% for 13s; fixed Itani Lo Sahn being canceled by movement abilities.
  • Billy: base health regen 2.5 to 2.0; Chain Gang spirit scaling 1 to 0.7.
  • Doorman: Doorway range 70m to 65m. Drifter: Rend spirit scaling 1.7 to 1.4; Stalker's Mark cooldown 24s to 26s.
